RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: The Harts are set to make history yet again.

At a press conference this morning in Riyadh, WWE confirmed that both Natalya Neidhart and Lacey Evans will face off at tomorrow’s Crown Jewel event in the first-ever women’s wrestling match in Saudi Arabian history.

While this may be the first time that the women will step inside the ring in Saudi Arabia, it isn’t WWE’s first attempt to earn them a spot on the card. Last May, Natalya was set to face off with Alexa Bliss at WWE Super Show-Down in Jeddah, however, the match was rejected by the Saudi Arabian government just prior to the show.

Over the past few months, Evans and Natalya have been inseparable on WWE programming as part of a long-standing feud. Most recently, however, the duo teamed up to face the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kabuki Warriors on Monday Night Raw, however, the pair was unsuccessful in their endeavour.

There are few ways to describe Natalya other than as an Albertan wrestling legend. The daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart was famously the first woman to train in the Hart Dungeon, and began her career wrestling for both Stampede Wrestling and the Prairie Wrestling Alliance. Since signing with WWE in 2007, the third-generation star has become a two-time women’s champion and earned her reputation as one of the top female stars in the world.

Evans, too, has a bit of a history in Alberta, though not for her endeavours inside the squared circle. Evans was famously “pulled over” and ticketed prior to a WWE Live event in Edmonton earlier this year, with the now-viral video gaining international attention for both the star and the city.

WWE Crowl Jewel takes place tomorrow at 11:00 MST.
