Though the year may be winding down, that’s certainly not the case with Alberta’s independent wrestling scene. Not only did a series of major matchups get announced, but titles changed hands, promotions toured the province and award nominations began!

Not caught up on all the action? Now you can be! It’s the latest edition of Last Week in Alberta Wrestling, your source for the most up-to-date information across the Albertan wrestling scene!

Clandestine Society Announces Trio of Matches

Last week was a busy one for the ultra-secretive Clandestine Society. Last week, the promotion announced a trio of matches in anticipation of their inaugural event on December 14th, with all three bound to delight Albertan wrestling fans for a variety of different reasons.

Early last week, the Clandestine Society announced that Michael Allen Richard Clark, a multi-time champion across a variety of Western Canadian promotions, will be taking on Albertan wrestling legacy Son of Irish in a straight-up singles match.

Later in the week, the promotion announced a pair of matches that will certainly be unique to the Albertan wrestling scene. Firstly, the Society confirmed that lewd wrestling specialists Dylon Stone and Mike McSugar will face off in (what we have to assume) is the first-ever Dildo on a Pole match in recorded history. In addition, it was announced that the sadistic trio of Colton Kelly, Evan Adams, and Sheik Akbar Shabaz will face off in a highly-anticipated Death Match that’s sure to both shock and thrill both Albertan and worldwide wrestling fans.

December 14th is truly shaping up to be an event like no other, folks. Score your invite if you can.

Stay tuned to the WCSN for any further updates on the Clandestine Society.

Kid Cyrus Captures MPW Provincial Championship

Monster Pro Wrestling’s mini-tour tour across Alberta kicked off with a bang last week, as “The Future” Kid Cyrus became a two-time MPW Provincial Champion after defeating “Beautiful” Blake Kannon in Lloydminster last Thursday.

Cyrus’ win marked the end of Kannon’s 229-day championship reign, which at the time was the longest consecutive reign going in the promotion.

Chimera Set to Challenge for RCW Canadian Heavyweight Championship

With all due respect to Impact Wrestling star Cody Deaner, the biggest Albertan wrestling match this weekend involving a man named Cody has to be Cody Chimera‘s first opportunity at Heavy Metal’s RCW Canadian Heavyweight Championship. This Saturday in Edmonton, that match will come to fruition as the Malicious Militia star will receive his first shot at the championship that Metal has held since defeating The Aussie Legend on July 27th in Calgary. The phrase gets brandished about quite often in Albertan independent wrestling, but this is truly a dream match in every regard. There’s simply no argument that both Metal and Chimera represent two of the province’s finest pro wrestlers, and with the Heavyweight Championship on the line, fans in Edmonton this Saturday should be treated to a main event for the ages.
